Create a project

Create the project that will hold the deal's data room, Q&A and team. The wizard takes a few minutes; everything in it can be changed later under Project Settings.

Before you start

• Your account can create projects. The New Project button on the Projects page is only shown to users with that right.
• You know the company's name, website and country. The wizard asks for them first and uses them across the project.

Steps

1. On the Projects page, select New Project. The wizard opens on General Information, step 1 of 3.
2. Fill in Company Information: Name, URL, Country (start typing in Search or select country and pick the match) and Maturity (Liquidation, Mature, Restructure, Scale-up or Startup). The search field above the form looks the company up so you can fill the fields from a match instead of typing. Select Next.

3. On Description, step 2 of 3, describe the company in a few sentences or let the app generate a description for you. The description is required and is used as context throughout the project. Select Next.
   A good description names the product, the customers and the reason for the deal.11.Description22.Next
4. On Project Settings, step 3 of 3, enter the Project Name your team will see in the project list, add a Project Description if it helps, and select Create project.
   The project name is what appears on the Projects page; the company name stays on the project's settings.11.Project Name22.Create project

Check the result

The app opens the new project on Files, in the empty Workspace, ready for uploads. The project appears as a card on the Projects page with its description.

To see who can open the project, go to Teams and select People with access. It lists internal users with their role, and, once a data room is shared, the external users and their groups.
