TaskStep 2 of 3 in Account

Your first hour in Valutico VDR

Open the demo deal, learn the project sidebar, read a document, ask the assistant one question and see who has access, so the first real project holds no surprises.

Every new organisation starts with a finished deal to look around: Cardiolytix Inc., a demo project with a filled data room, a published index and an evaluated questionnaire. This guide uses it to show where things are and what a day's work looks like, in about an hour and without touching a live deal.

Before you start

  • You can sign in; see Sign in and account if not.
  • Projects shows a card called Cardiolytix Inc. with the note Explore this demo project to get started. If it is missing, see the end of this guide.
  • The assistant step spends a few credits, like any AI work.

Steps

  1. Open the demo deal. Projects lists every project you can see; select the Cardiolytix Inc. card. New Project in the top right is where your first real deal will start later.
One card per project. The demo card is yours to click around in; nothing in it is shared with anyone.1.Cardiolytix Inc. demo deal2.New Project
  2. Learn the sidebar. Every project has the same rail on the left, and each entry is one kind of work. Hover over an icon for its name.
The rail is the same in every project; entries you have no role for are hidden.1.Files2.Q&A3.Analysis4.Teams5.Analytics6.Project Settings7.Search or ask AI
    EntryWhat it is for
FilesThe documents: the Workspace where uploads land and the numbered Dataroom buyers see. Most of a deal happens here.
Q&AQuestions buyers ask about the room, and your answers.
AnalysisQuestionnaires: structured checks the AI answers from the documents, with sources.
TeamsWho has access: your internal team, external buyer groups and their folder roles.
AnalyticsWho visited, what they opened and what they downloaded.
Project SettingsName, company, security, the Deal Portal and billing for this project.
Search or ask AI…The assistant, from any page. Search finds documents; a question gets an answer with citations.
  3. Read a document. On Files, select the Dataroom tab. In the folder tree on the left, open 1 Corporate & Governance, then 1.1 Charter & Constitutional Documents, and double-click a document in the list. It opens in the viewer beside the list, under its index number, for example 1.1.1.1; that number is what buyers and colleagues will quote. A single click only selects the row. Close the viewer with the × or the browser's back button.
PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files open in place; nothing needs downloading to be read.
  4. Ask the assistant one question. Select Search or ask AI… in the header of any project page, type What does Cardiolytix do, and who are its customers? and press Enter. The assistant opens in a panel on the right and answers from the documents; each claim carries a chip naming the document it came from, and selecting a chip opens that page. Ask about your documents… at the bottom takes follow-up questions. This is the same assistant you will use on a real deal to find a clause, compare versions or draft a summary.
Every claim carries a citation into the room; open it before you rely on the answer.
  5. See who has access. Open Teams. The internal team, Default, is your organisation's members on this project; external groups such as Halden Partners are buyer teams, each with its own folder roles. People with access lists every person and what they can open. On a real deal this is the page you check before publishing.
Internal and external teams in one list; People with access is the audit view.1.People with access2.New Team
  6. Set up the organisation before colleagues arrive. An admin opens Profile from the account menu at the bottom of the rail: check the organisation name, switch on Require MFA for organization if company policy asks for it, and set the Inactivity timeout. Under Plans & credits, make sure there is a balance before the first AI work; Credits and billing explains what spends credits. Then invite the team with the right roles; Manage your team and roles explains Member versus Guest.
  7. Start the first real project. Back on Projects, select New Project, name the deal and the company, and upload to the Workspace only; nothing is shared until you place documents in the Dataroom and invite a group. Prepare and share a data room is the end-to-end path from here to publication.

Check the result

You have opened a document from the Dataroom, received a cited answer from the assistant, and know where Teams and Project Settings are. The demo deal is unchanged and stays available as a reference for how a finished room looks.

If something goes wrong

There is no Cardiolytix Inc. project

The demo deal is created with a new organisation. If you were invited into an existing organisation, its members may have deleted the copy; deleting it cannot be undone and support cannot restore it. Ask a colleague to add you to one of their projects, or create your own with New Project.

The sidebar shows fewer entries than in the screenshots

Entries appear only for what your role allows. A Guest, or a member with access to a single document, sees Files and little else. Teams and Analytics need a project owner. Ask the project owner to check your role; How access works explains the layers.

The assistant answers without citations, or says it found nothing

Documents are searchable only once their status is Ready. In the demo deal that is already the case; on a fresh upload wait for processing to finish, then ask again. See Upload problems.

A Getting Started checklist appears in the sidebar

Some organisations also see a Getting Started panel with an Explore the Platform checklist. It links to the same pages as this guide and ticks them off as you visit; it is per person, and dismissing it changes nothing in the project.
